Year 2 - The Great Fire of London

We have been learning about The Great Fire of London and The Plague. The children role-played the plague and the sequence of events of the plague.

"I enjoyed learning about the plague because of the rats and fleas!"

The children learnt about the effects of the Great Fire on London and the changes which London made.  Here is our display of The Great Fire of London.

"The best part about the fire of London was my painting."

Promoting our school values

Hawthorn Class have been working on building our school values.  We had an afternoon where we worked and developed our learning and understanding about our values: Co-operation, Honesty, Friendship, Ambition, Perseverance and Respect.

One of the activities involved the children building a tower using spaghetti and masking tape.  The children were challenged to build the tallest tower, only using these items.  The children were given a group and asked to work together.
