Hawthorn

The adults working in Hawthorn are Mrs Proud (class teacher) and Mrs Pratt (learning assistant). Together, as a team, we set high expectations and challenging learning outcomes for all of the children. On a daily basis, we teach English, Maths, Spellings and Book Talk, in which we strive to make learning as engaging as possible.

Hawthorn are a hard working class. Here is an overview of our learning so far:

English

Our Talk for Writing text this term is 'The Tyger' by William Blake. The children are learning to analyse the text and share their opinions about it. They are also working to identify features of this poem, including rhetorical questions, imagery and rhyming scheme and then apply these features to their own writing.
