Mrs Proud and Mrs Kangellaris are thrilled to be working with Oak Class this year. We look forward to providing the children with exciting and engaging challenges to build on their prior knowledge and enable them to reach their full potential in Year 6.
On the 'Autumn 1' spiral, you will find the topic web that outlines the learning that we will be covering this Autumn first half.
English: Weekly - Out on Monday and due on Friday
Each child will be given a Literacy and Language Homework book to help build on their English writing skills. The children will be directed on the short activity they are to complete. The dates set for completion are to allow time for the book to be quarantined before self-marking.
Maths: On-going (no due date)
The children are expected to know their times tables from 1 to 12 by year 6. They should continue to practise these using the TTRockstars website. I will hand out the log on details in due course.
Topic: Fortnightly due date, given on sheet
The activities to complete for our topic, Pharaohs, is outlined in the document below. Due to the nature of this homework, the children will not be able to bring their completed task into school. Instead, please send a photo of the activity to the 'show my work' email address.
Home Reading: On-going (no due date)
The children are expected to read at home daily, for a minimum of 15 minutes. I have set a book reading challenge and I believe the children will achieve it, if they are reading consistently at home as well as in school. They will bring a bookmark that has meaningful questions to ask about the text they are reading.
We will be doing PE on Fridays - the children will need to wear their PE kit into school.
