Safeguarding during the Coronavirus outbreak
We are following updated government guidance, in collaboration with Hertfordshire County Council. We have worked with Holwell to ensure safeguarding procedures at Club Pearwell are robust.
All Peartree staff are aware of safeguarding procedures, whilst Peartree is shut. Electronic systems are well embedded and DSPs are available remotely. We are in regular contact with social care.
We have systems in place to support our most vulnerable children and to make regular contact with all our families and children.
We have issued guidance to parents/carers about what to do if they have a safeguarding concern, whilst the school is closed. This guidance can be found in the letters sent home (see link on website and emails). Parent/carers have been asked to be more vigilant when their children are online. In our weekly, Peartree Virtual School newsletter, we highlight an area of safeguarding.
We are following updated DfE and HCC guidance to record attendance, children transferring between schools, safer recruitment and on-line safety. All school policies remain in place and are available on this website.
If for any reason Peartree Primary School has to close, it will be posted on the front page of this website. In the event of snow, we will also post on the Hertfordshire snow line and inform local radio.
Of course, we will do whatever we can to keep school open but as always safety comes first.
In the event of extreme weather conditions or an emergency and the school should need to close, the county has a new school closure notification system Everbridge. All parents/carers should register to receive SMS and emails.
